Restore Life is a non-profit organization located in the Westside neighborhoods of Atlanta, specifically in a community known as Grove Park. Initially founded in 2009 by Jim Moon, Restore Life remained somewhat dormant until re-tooled in 2015 by Danny Iverson and Charles Harper III. Initially formed as a collective impact non-profit, we spent our first year of operation building partnerships and raising funds for our community leaders and partners. It was through this process that we discovered our greatest strength: developing and investing in leaders. Now, that's all we do.
We're a group of people who are passionate about the flourishing and restoration of our Grove Park neighborhood. We live, work, and play here in Grove Park, and these neighbors are our friends.
You may already know this, but there's a lot of attention on the westside of Atlanta right now. Properties are selling faster than ever and the plans show that this neighborhood will develop quickly these new ten years as The Beltline project expands and people move into the city. Our mission is simple. We want to make sure this development happens in a dignified and interdependent way that includes the awesome ideas of our community members.
How? Well, we believe that real community development happens through community people.
Our vision is to see all sectors of Grove Park flourish through dignified empowerment of its leaders. As we discover leaders with business, non-profit, or ministry ideas, we want to see their ideas become reality as their leadership abilities are developed and resources are dispersed as needed. This includes access to funding, volunteers, development trainings, consulting, counseling, and general connections with other successful leaders in the Atlanta community.
We know the facts. And we know that change is quickly coming to our neighborhood. So our bottom line is this: we want our neighbors to benefit from these changes.
By investing in both our current and future leaders and partnering with the amazing organizations across the community, we believe this will happen. Our leaders will be ready to lead. Local organizations will flourish and grow. And the Grove Park neighborhood will be a diverse and beautiful representation of dignified community development.
